So it doesn’t really snow very often in Rome, so when it was announced that it could snow this monday it was a great source of excitement. Schools were closed and everything was on alert, the city would and did stop.
The last time it snowed in Rome was six years ago, and I did not live here yet. This time I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to see it covered in white, because god know when it might happen again (they say perhaps next thursday though!). So I woke up super early, put in my after skiing shoes and to the city center I went.
It was only seven o’clock in the morning, very little out. But I was on a mission!
Drove past Terme di Caracalla… The old Roman Baths where in Summer they do open opera concerts.
It was snowing a lot more than I thought it would, and i deeply regretted not going out with my skiing pants!
Fori Imperiali and Piazza Venezia
Altare della Patria
Then the sun comes out, because of course… it’s Rome!
Penelope wasn’t as excited as me and was impatiently waiting to go back home.
